For hikers

Kyjov Valley

Whether you're looking for a relaxing day out with the kids or want to get fit, Kyjov Valley has something for everyone. You can take a tour of the rock steps and ladders around Kyjovský Hrádek for a fun day out with the kids. If you want to get fit, you can hike along the Křinice River, perhaps all the way to the border of neighbouring Germany, and then return home through the Back Jetřichovice, even in the dark.

On foot, you can experience the rare mosses, kingfishers, and otters up close. You can run up to the rocky lookouts and, if you're up for it, wade through the icy Křinická River. You can admire the icicle-riddled Cave of the Fairies and the Brtnice Waterfalls in winter. The waterfalls cascade down from the rock overhangs around the Wolf Stream in good weather. These landmarks are so significant that they even have their names on maps - Opona, Varhany, Bethlehem, or Velký Sloup. Just be careful on your way and watch out for bark beetle-ridden spruces that might fall on your head.

Feel free to take a leisurely bike ride through the refreshing Kyjov Valley. You are guaranteed to find relief from the summer heat as you journey to the border with Germany and back. You can choose to ride along the Czech Road, or take the route through Vlčí Hora and Sněžná back to Kyjov or Krásná Lípa. After your bike ride, you can catch bus 434 or take the train to Děčín and beyond.

Good luck with finding parking during the busy season!
